Savory Cake with Apples, Gouda Cheese and Hamon

- 450 g flour
- 125 g very soft butter
- ½ tsp salt
- 10 g backing powder
- 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh sage (sage) or ½ tbsp dried rosemary
- 2 eggs
- 4 medium-large apples
- 150 g gouda cheese
- 200 g hamon for garnishing
Preheat oven to 160 degrees Centigrade. Cover a rectangular cake mold /28x12 cm/ with baking paper. Peel and grate the apples. Grate the cheese.
In a bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and sage/or rosemery/. Add the butter, cut into cubes. With hands, mix the flour and the butter until crumbs are formed. Add cheese and apples. Stir quickly and add the beaten eggs. Stir again and pour the mixture into cake mold.
Bake for about 45-50 minutes. Before removing it, make sure its ready by inserting a toothpick or wooden skewer into the tickest part of the cake. If it is dry, when you take it out, it′s ready.
Serve chilled, garnished with hamon and extra dry cheese if you used saliva or olive paste and tomatoes if you used rosemary.
